Reposted as the commissioners apologists flag posts they don't like.
If you reread it, you'll find that BOTH commissioners upgraded their seats and the spokesperson stated that both of them were bigger than average. I haven't seen Boice at the Y for awhile. He must have packed on some more poundage.

Some of the highlights:
-They have spent nearly $43,000. That money is for schools, fire suppression, etc. The Sheriff's Office also get some.
-The county has charged The Oregonian $2,700 for records regarding this spending. That's called an attempted cover-up.
-They've used the money for timber conferences at Sunriver, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley and Skamania Lodge.
-Freeman paid $75 for the lodging of his dog using that money.
-Freeman took a $66 jet boat dinner tour.
-Freeman took a first class trip to DC. He may have watched a Nationals game there as well.
-Freeman took other trips to DC upgrading his seat to Premium Class each time. Free alcohol available.
-Freeman refuses to itemize his meals; many of which are eaten at lounges including $205 at Brix Chill.
-Itemizing meals is county policy.
The county claimed retrieving records took 13 hours at $96.21/hr. Scary the lengths they will go to to HIDE their misdeeds.
Here's my favorite part. "Commissioners said their expenditures were proper and that the U.S. Forest Service, which disburses the federal money, audits the spending. The Forest Service does not perform such audits, its officials have previously said." Our commissioners lied. Again. One who had stolen county chainsaws at his tire shop and the other who charged VA and Forest Service vehicles a dollar a gallon more because he had a contract with the Feds. Sadly, this is what Douglas County voters vote for election after election..
