The real problem is the commissioners want the dump to be a profit maker for the county. We were told $3 a bag would be the break-even point for the dump. After a few months, they told the News Review they were doing better than they had expected and were turning a profit.

Now here we are a few years later and Commissioner Big 0 wants to charge $6 a bag while the commission has suggested $8. Since this county has never tried to bring any big employers here, they are scrambling for money because the rainy day fund is drying up.
Don't worry, though. They're not done. Sheriff Hanlin was supposed to retire two years ago. He hasn't yet because they want to pass a Publie Safety Levy, and they think it'll have a better chance if Hanlin is involved. I think the last number I heard was $1.39/1000.
